I know I said I wasn’t going to share another reflective post but I have to get this off of my chest. Sometimes it feels like you’re being overlooked or rejected in life but the truth is that you’re merely being saved for much better. With that being said, I feel extremely blessed to be able to usher in the new year on a positive note.
It’s also been a little cooler than I expected in Georgia this year. Oh, who am I kidding? It is freezing here and the cold that decided to take root in my body reminded me every few minutes by making me cough. I applaud the bloggers who are able to brave the harsh temperatures in the winter to shoot in anything other than an oversized coat and sweater but I’ve learned that I’m not that girl lol. As someone who takes piping hot showers in the summer, and may even turn on her heater too, I’m not a fan of being cold. Being warm is my thing so I suppose that’s where my love for sweaters comes from. Kudos if the sweater is comfortable and warm. Let’s be honest, sometimes sweaters can a tad rough on the skin depending on the material. However, this black distressed sweater from Tobi is everything but uncomfortable.
It is one of the coziest sweaters I own and that’s saying a lot because I own some pretty cozy sweaters in my opinion. Although I have some sweaters whose hems rest right below my waist, I love a good oversized sweater. Coupled with the fact that this sweater is black and features bell sleeves, let’s just say it is going to be in heavy rotation. I generally reach for sweaters that are cream or tan, my favorite neutrals, but I realized I don’t have many black sweaters. I tried to stay away from wearing too much black growing up but now that’s one of the first thing my eyes look for. I even find myself saying, “this would look so much better in black.”
Because I can’t get away with wearing this sweater by itself, I chose to pair it with a pair of vintage wash high rise jeans from Tobi and this black pair of loafers I’ve been living in recently. Although I love a good pair of form fitting skinny jeans, this pair has a more relaxed fit that I feel like I can breathe in. My waistline is a happy camper while wearing them lol. To complete this look, I reached for my plaid wool coat from Bershka and a cute beret from Dolls Kill since I lost the one I bought from Zara. You can’t go wrong with a cute hat, wool coat and loafers in sweater weather. I’d like to think it’s a low fuss look. It almost feels like a winter uniform for me lol. I suppose I should wear more outfits like this considering flu season is running rampant this year.
