Does anyone else live in an area that hasn’t gotten the memo that fall started on September 22nd? Georgia can’t be the only place that’s still clinging to summer like a box braid that’s hanging on for dear life around one’s edges. Needless to say, it’s still hot and humid so the fall looks I really want to wear have been on standby. Okay that’s not entirely true. It has started to cool off in the morning and evenings so we’re in that weird transition stage. You know what that means?
By now you know how I feel about outerwear but since I can’t wear heavy coats just yet, I’ve opted to wear the next best thing: blazers. No, my desire to wear them hasn’t let up yet. I almost gave this blazer I bought from H&M away (purchased before the incident) but decided to keep it just in case it came in handy. Burnt orange is making waves this fall and it’s a great color to wear when you’re feigning to transition your wardrobe to fall wear. Since we can’t bring fall to us, we can at least choose prints, color schemes and accessories that look the part. Besides, when you need a versatile piece that can take you from the office to the bar for drinks, a blazer is your friend.
Mind you, I’m personally in a pants/jeans phase of my life so that’s what I’ve been choosing to wear lately. This outfit features a monochromatic look with pops of burnt orange accents and a cropped statement tee from one of my favorite brands Shop Avnu. To be honest, this outfit actually reminds me of my favorite pumpkin spice muffins I buy from Publix. Now, I don’t like everything pumpkin spice but the muffins are my thing for sure. I’m trying to hold off on buying them because I can easily eat two in one sitting. We all have our things that we like to indulge in, don’t judge me.
